The role will play a critical role within the Hunter Class Frigate Program (HCF) Product Change Management team, bringing complex warship engineering product knowledge and experience to complement the process team.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager Product Change, this will be the lead role in interfacing with the reference design engineering (Type 26 GCS) and product change teams to enable and co-ordinate impact assessment by HCF engineers of the reference design product changes on the HCF design. This role will represent the HCF engineering authority at the reference design Engineering Change Board.

Expectations:

• Deliver and support HCF Product Change Management Process
• Represent HCF engineering at the reference design Engineering Change Board
• Support administration of the HCF Product Change Board working closely with, and taking guidance from, the existing Product Change Board lead
• Strong whole-of-ship product knowledge, ideally Type 26, across different disciplines including an understanding of the key interfaces between ship systems and sub-systems
• Strong knowledge, and ideally a user, of existing product change and configuration management processes, e.g. impact assessment
• Integrated bill of materials (iBoM) and change management in Windchill knowledge
• Leadership of processes, the candidate shall be able to provide clear guidance on the use of engineering processes (e.g. change) to wide range of stakeholders
• Opportunity to develop people management skills as role progresses through the HCF lifecycle
