City Services is responsible for the Council's front line services including, customer service channels (digital, contact centre and face to face) and environmental operations such as waste, cleansing, highways, drainage, engineering, projects, transport, parks and cemeteries.

About the Job

The post holder will report directly to the Highways and Engineering Service Manager and have extensive experience in a municipal engineering environment, preferably in Highways and Drainage operational maintenance ,risk management, health and safety and emergency response including flooding, highways and winter maintenance activities

About the person

The post holder will be an experienced Manager suitably qualified in Civil Engineering or other related discipline and have extensive background working in a highways and engineering environment . This post requires you to demonstrate the ability to work well as both an individual and team member with management experience to lead a diverse operational team The post holder will also be required to possess an ability to organise and prioritise tasks and deliver complex outcomes to tight deadlines.

You will be skilled at analysing multiple sources of information, making excellent decisions, and driving difficult situations towards a positive resolution.
