Working for an owner managed business isn't everyone's cup of tea, the parameters in which you work are ever changing. One day you would be required to complete your standard monthly accounting duties, the next day you will be working on a critical project that needs your immediate attention. 

This type of environment isn't suitable for the faint of heart, you'll have your boundaries pushed, you'll be well outside of your comfort zone more often than not. That also means that your exposure to business strategy will be greater. Working alongside the Head of Finance, you'll be called upon to support in business critical decisions, sharing your perspectives and commercial acumen. 

You'll be required to carry out all the standard duties of a Financial Controller, which includes managing a reasonably sized team as well as all the day to day, weekly and monthly accounting responsibilities. The added extras will including dealing with customers and suppliers in places like Taiwan and China, so it's imperative that your Mandarin or Cantonese is conversational. 

In terms of progression, with owner managed business who are growing at the rate that this business are, progression can take many forms. It really depends on what you are looking to achieve in the next few years of your career, manage a bigger team, get more commercial exposure, form part of the senior leadership team...really the spectrum, is as broad as you need it to be.

In order to be considered you will, as a minimum need:

• ACCA/CIMA qualification 
• Competent mandarin or cantonese speaker 
• Competent user of MS Excel 

In terms of the package, in addition to what has already been listed, they would be looking to pay the successful candidate up to £55k.
