Full-time (36 hours per week) Service Manager   contract to start ASAP until 20-09-20 with a possible extension.

Oversee practice and performance to achieve high quality outcomes for children and families, ensuring standards and performance indicators are met, procedures are followed, agreed timescales adhered to and that the safety of children remains the highest priority across the service. Provide professional leadership and management of the set through supervision of the Team Managers in addition to shaping and influencing a professional environment which enables practice excellence. Design and implement measures to assure performance, the quality of practice and the effective throughput of work. Be responsible for the management of the set, overseeing all aspects of workload and performance management. Maintain own continuous professional development and that of the set through appropriate training, learning and research opportunities, and in conjunction with the Head of Service. Promote excellence in practice using research and practice evidence, tested to meet local need, setting an expectation that Southwark’s practice framework will be applied and developed by practitioners. Oversee and quality assure the support and assessment of Newly Qualified Social Workers through their ASYE, others participating in work based routes into social work, and the endorsement of Social Workers preparing for the National Assessment and Accreditation System.Contribute to the design and implementation of service development, drawing on practice knowledge and expertise, data and research findings, and by monitoring key performance areas for the set. Build effective strategic partnerships with professional agencies and ensure staff within the service work purposefully with other agencies to promote positive outcomes for children and their families. Build effective professional relationships to deliver services flexibly across the organisation.
