Job Title:  Head of School / Head Teacher

Location: Stockport

Salary: £27,000 - £35,000 Depending on skills and experience

 Package: Excellent Holiday Entitlement, Pension + much more

This is a key role for our client and as such requires someone with proven success of management within the Education sector.

The Role:

• Manage the performance and operations within a School for alternative provision, to ensure the delivery of exciting and stimulating curriculum (GCSE English and Maths / Vocational Subjects).
• Manage and support teaching staff and ensure high quality of teaching and learning, raising standards of achievement.
• Contribute to strategic development and further development of the school, through ongoing business planning.
• Manage the appraisal and performance management process for teaching staff.
• Ensure all staff have a clear understanding of their measurable targets / KPI’s, and effectively performance manage them to achieve these.
• Liaise closely with parents and the wider community.
• Financial / budget management.
• Ensure the school is inspection-ready at all times.
• Manage and develop relationships with local authorities, department for education, and OFSTED.

Essential Criteria:

• Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTLS or QTS)
• Proven experience within an operational management / senior role within a school setting (alternative provision).
• Strong leadership and people management skills – experience of managing the performance of teaching staff to achieve outstanding results.
• Have experience in working with students who show challenging behaviours, or those who are not suited to mainstream education.
• Proven experience of improving the quality of teaching and learning / curriculum development and raising standards of achievement.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Full, clean driving licence, use of a vehicle and flexible with travel when required.
