The Company

Our client specialises in the packaging and distribution of specialist products. This multimillion-pound business can handle a huge variety of their product and are the UK’s largest supplier.

The business was founded over 200 years ago in London markets, but through natural growth and acquisition they have become one the leading business in the UK market.

As well as financial targets, the business also focuses on several other key goals each year. For example, the business has growing and adding new lines, therefore the increased need for new engineers.

The company are also very keen on developing their staff and training them up on new machinery and potential training courses to further your qualifications

The Role

The business currently has need of a Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer to join their established team. The department has a tried and tested PPM schedule which is currently running at 60%, thus a lot of the day to day maintenance of the lines will revolve around the routine maintenance of the lines.

The Multiskilled Maintenance Engineers would also be required to work on any breakdowns that occur, including fault finding using a multi meter against engineering drawings. Lines include: multi head weighers, pumps, filters, belt conveyors (belt and chain), labellers, packers, wrappers and pallet wrappers. Some site maintenance would also be required.

The role is roughly 50% mechanical and 50% electrical. Although all the lines are PLC controlled, the Multiskilled Maintenance Engineers would not need to go into the code and make any adjusts. It would be necessary to fault find on inputs and outputs against electrical drawings, working with Siemens s7.

The Candidate

To be successful in your application you must have the following skills or attributes:

• Time served Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer.
• Must be able to fault find on electrical systems using a multi meter.
• Must be able to read electrical drawings.
• Must hold an electrical or mechanical qualification (City & Guilds or higher).
