Salary: £50,000 plus bonus (OTE £55,000)

The company has been headquarted in Reading since 1988. It sells and supports managed print services and document solutions in the UK and Republic of Ireland through a network of distributors, dealers and resellers.

The company is a global leader of colour and monochrome photocopiers, printers, MFPs and associated print and document management software. 

About the role:

My client is looking to hire a Bid Manager to join their team to provide overall leadership and strategy for Bid Management. Your role will be to define, implement and review key processes and tools for the successful submission of RFx documents and to manage a team of Bid Executives.

What you will do:

  • To manage and lead the Bid Executive(s) who provide operational support to partners and Direct Touch RFx submissions. To coach and develop these executives.
  • To continuously review existing and define new way of working to streamline the RFx submission process, including but not limited to; Bid/No Bid, Creative, Win Themes, Documentation, Boiler Plate content.
  • Understanding the rules of tendering especially Public Contract Regulations.
  • Providing best practise to Channel Partners and working closely with key stakeholders within these organisations to help improve their win rate.
  • Manage and lead the Bid / No Bid process for “must win” opportunities.
  • Understanding the RFx, deciding timelines and responsibilities.
  • Timely management of tender activities.
  • To use AMPM best practises.
  • Work closely with the Key Accounts manager on existing and new framework relationships.
  • Ensure each RFx includes the relevant Win Themes which is included in the Executive Summary.
  • Manage quality control and procedures.
  • Graphic design and presentations.
  • Obtaining feedback from purchasers when tenders are unsuccessful in order to improve in future.
  • Provide insight and analyses of forthcoming opportunities, purchasers' mindsets, best practice and dealing with purchasers.

Your experience will include:

  • Previous experience working as a Bid Manager within a Bids & Tenders team
  • IT Managed Services or Managed Print Service background would be beneficial, but not essential
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office (including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project & Visio)
  • Knowledge of project management techniques - PRINCE2, Agile, Waterfall
  • Ability to work in pressurised environment to tight deadlines
  • Be comfortable with rapid change
  • Outgoing, creative and open-minded
  • Self-confident and enthusiastic
  • Firm, responsible and consistent when dealing with people at all levels
  • Approachable and willing to assist others
  • High degree of integrity
  • Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy
