A great opportunity has arisen for a Systems Design Engineer to work for a leading Electronics design company in the Staines area. This Systems Engineer role will be taking ownership for the architectural design of several new Electronics systems. Your role will be working within the Development team for an SME with an exceptional track record in developing and delivering Electronics Solutions within the military communications.

You will ensure the execution of the hardware engineering process with the hardware team. This can include taking responsibility for hardware sub-system design and ensuring the right function skills and resources meet projects hardware requirements, design, verification and validation activities to meet Company and customer standards

JOB DESCRIPTION & REQUIREMENTS

- Provide architectural design of hardware systems or sub-systems and generation of design requirements and specifications.
- Ensure specialist design skills are utilised across the business and across projects.
- Design key aspects of electronic/electrical systems as required, providing peer review of design and design elements as and when required.
- Specify and lead studies into hardware related aspects of systems and documentation of results, providing hands on operation and use of equipment including/during verification and validation activities.
- Draw up design solutions, costs and schedule in support of bid proposal activities when necessary.
- Provide technical oversight and scope of hardware requirements to Project Managers utilising the skills and resources of the team to deliver an efficient and smooth service to our customers.
- Ensure all hardware engineers understand the process and procedures required for recording and documenting tasks to meet project requirements.
- Support and co-ordinate project hardware deadlines with suggested resource skills allocation within hardware function.
- Identify what support is needed from other engineering functions to enable hardware delivery of projects.

Requirements for this role

- Have experience of and fully understand the full hardware engineering lifecycle, how it integrates with other engineering functions.
- Able to provide architectural design of hardware systems or sub-systems and generation of design requirements and specifications.
- Ability to design key hardware electronic/electrical systems as required, providing peer review of design and design elements as and when required.
- Specify and lead studies into hardware related aspects of systems and documentation of results, providing hands on operation and use of equipment including/during verification and validation activities.
- Be able to draw up design solutions, costs and schedule in support of bid proposal activities when necessary.
- Ability to provide technical oversight and scope of hardware requirements to Project Managers utilising the skills and resources of the team to deliver an efficient and smooth service to our customers.
- Can ensure all hardware engineers understand the process and procedures required for recording and documenting tasks to meet project requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Engineering degree or equivalent in Electronic or related discipline.
- Full UK driving license.
- Ability to travel nationally and internationally if required.
