Engineering Manager
70-75K + bonus + 6% pension + healthcare for the whole family + 25 days holiday + fringe benefits
The Company
I’m extremely excited to be representing one of our best clients in the recruitment of an Engineering Manager for their flagship site. As one of the biggest names in automated distribution this business continued commitment to the development of cutting-edge technology and customer satisfaction has seen them experience phenomenal organic growth. As a result of a recent promotion they are now looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to join the team.
The Role
As the Engineering Manager you will be responsible for all (60) engineering personnel on this 2m square foot site. You will oversee the day to day maintenance of a wide range of cutting-edge technology, including conveyors, sortation equipment, robotics, SCADA and ancillary machinery. The site has grown every year for each of the last 10 years with investment in more equipment and technology. The site is now established so the main focus will now be continuous improvement and striving for operational excellence. You will also be responsible for:
- The day to day leadership of the team, which is already well established and performing well
- The support of the maintenance manager and a team of maintenance team leaders.
- Analysing operational and technical data to improve the productivity and efficiency of the site
- Applying lean methodologies such as 5S and Six Sigma
- Managing relationships with internal and external stake holders
- All health and safety on site
- Achievement of all KPI’s
- Management of a multimillion-pound budget
- Training, development and support of the team
The Candidate
The ideal Engineering Manager will need:
- A track record in the management and leadership of large maintenance teams in an automated environment
- Experience in the leadership of continuous improvement activities
- Ideally an electrical qualification or have been an electrically biased engineer in your earlier career
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders
