Solutions Architect required for a 6 month contract (likely to extend) working remotely with occasional travel to South of England.

Working for a leading utilities organisation who is going through a huge IT Transformation Programme, you will be responsible for the high level design phase of decommissioning or integrating legacy systems in to EAM and GIS Systems.

As solution architect, you will be responsible for application non-functional aspects for example usability, accessibility, quality, security, performance, availability, scalability, and integrity and managing 3^rd party relationships with external suppliers. You will need to ensure a smooth transition to the new Legacy estate without compromising current performance of systems and applications

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide architectural oversight and support for the application and infrastructure environment
• To meet and maintain required Non-Functional Requirements and future needs
• Designing Functional Architectures for Service Quality
• Developing Functional Characteristics
• Leading technical teams as appropriate in application development/support activities
• Architecting new IT Solutions as required
• Designing and maintaining the application solution delivery and infrastructure environment
• Liaising with 3rd party product providers to understand future enhancements, product roadmaps, new developments and communicate as required to business, user and IT Stakeholders
• Reviewing proposals to enhance or modify the configuration or functionality of firewalls, servers, applications, databases and other critical elements of the infrastructure

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• Experience of working on high design phase of large scale integration programme
• Understanding of EAM Solutions - ideally IBM Maximo
• Understanding of GIS - ESRI
• Experience of end-to-end application solution architecture/design methods and patterns for example design in areas such as COTS, Web/Digital, operational technologies, back-office and front-office
• Architecture of medium complexity enterprise solutions
• Experience in deployment of applications into hosted / data centre environments and associated configuration of application and infrastructure
• Experience of working within an utilities organisation will be highly beneficial for this role.

This role is to start late August / early September and will pay between £600 - £730 ltd/umbrella per day depending on your level of experience.
