Job Description:

Our Client a leading, UK independent electricity connections provider are seeking a permanent full time Engineering Support Officer to work at their Childerditch, Brentwood, Essex office.

Function: 

As an engineering support officer you will be able to provide engineering support to the Programme Manager and delivery teams (Construction Engineers/teams) in the South East.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • To support the programme manager and delivery teams in the South East
  • Complete and submit opening notices / stop notices / reinstatement details for works in the public highway as required
  • Project programming
  • File management
  • Creation of work packs
  • Printing of statutory diagrams for issuing to contractors and operatives
  • Raising purchase order requisitions
  • To promote and demonstrate a culture of Health Safety & Quality at all times
  • To comply at all times with the requirements of Power On Connections Environmental Policy
  • Updating data stores
  • Effective management of recorded project detail in accordance with the Business Management System (BMS)
  • Completing internal tender/contract documentation such as business process forms
  • Internal BACs/CHAPS request
  • MPAN process
  • Section 50 and stats plan
  • Construction drawings (where assessed as competent)
  • Construction drawing revision
  • Made Live drawing revision
  • As Laid drawing revision
  • All other reasonably requested duties
  • Report all accidents and incidents
  • Carry out all works in line with POC Limited Policies and Procedures
  • Provide accurate quality work within the department and company
  • Organisational and Time Management
  • Ability to compile professional correspondence
  • Team working
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Must have a professional attitude
  • Good communication skills – liaising with clients and project site personnel involved on each contract – by telephone, email and other written correspondence
  • Relationship management – managing customer expectations
  • Carry out any duties as deemed appropriate by POC Limited

Key skills and Experience: 

  • Must have an engineering background with engineering knowledge, particularly scheduling
  • Knowledge using MS Office software packages
  • Ideally proficient with AutoCAD, or the ability to demonstrate aptitude to develop own skills to meet these standards
  • GCSE Grade C or above in Math’s and English (or equivalent)
  • Must have a clean UK driving licence
  • Must be eligible to work in the UK
