Lamonby Recruitment are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for an Assistant / Graduate Quantity Surveyor to join a leading construction contractor specialising within the health, educational, Commercial, Industrial and Retail, Residential and Sports and Leisure sectors.
Preston based the successful Assistant / Graduate Quantity Surveyor will be predominantly be on sites in the North West.
Assistant / Graduate Quantity Surveyor Role
Attend pre-contract and pre-start meetings
Check all incoming contracts and warranties and ensure that all orders and letters of intent are properly acknowledged and accepted on the same terms as the offer was made or agree the amendments.
Ensure the checking of any terms and conditions submitted by the estimating staff
Attend internal project and discipline meetings with discipline team, designers, and operations teams, ensure projects estimated and run cost effectively, writing or assisting with the compilation of contractual correspondence in a proper and timely manner.
Maintain area commercial reporting and measurement systems
Monitor cash flow for department and maintain target average debt days
Manage the process to ensure Invoices/Applications prepared by the department are checked by individual disciplines and are up to date on a monthly basis.
Manage the process of the reviewing and sign off sub-contractor accounts by individual disciplines
Attend group commercial and liaise with the National Commercial Manager as required.
Ensure compliance with all QA, health & safety and other statutory obligations.
Maintain and improve the professional and progressive image of the company.
Role Requirements and Qualifications
The successful Assistant / Graduate Quantity Surveyor will either have a Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management related degree
They will be fully conversant with Standard Methods of Measurement and Rules of Valuations.
Experience in contracting is preferred but not essential
