What you will be doing…

As a Senior Packaging Engineer, you will report to the Director of Packaging Engineering and Labelling.

You will lead a team of engineers responsible for the clinical and commercial packaging of drug substances, products, container closures and final product presentations.

You will help build and implement a long-term strategy, develop annual goals and strategic direction for the packaging organisation. You will drive efficiencies and be responsible for the lifecycle of products.

Key responsibilities:

• Design, qualification and implementation of packaging designs
• Pursue packaging technologies that will drive innovation and gain efficiencie
• Drive packaging strategy and innovation
• Consistently deliver results aligned with departmental and program goals.
• Drive continuous improvement in the packaging processes from project initiation through launch as well as life cycle management. In alignment with regulatory and commercial manufacturing requirements.
• Develop and maintain a robust team of engineers, with sophisticated degrees and experience in packaging engineering that are professionally and technically proficient.
• Identify resource requirements to deliver on program portfolio.
• Deliver progress reports and presentations.
• Author regulatory documents.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to ensure consultants, contract manufacturers, and external business partners align with business standards and requirements.

What we are looking for…

• Master's degree in Engineering, Science or related technological field with work experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology area.
• Recognized ability to lead and deliver results in a highly fluid, interactive matrixed environment.
• Extensive experience of packaging engineering with operations and packaging design.
• Experience leading a team.
• Demonstrated ability in executing packaging engineering projects
• AutoCad or similar software application to create, modify and approve engineering drawings.
• Established leadership skills in a wide range of packaging related technologies with strong fundamental knowledge of primary and secondary packaging systems and processes, manufacturing process equipment and processes, material science, and quality systems.
