Job Description

Act as the responsible Project Manager in the delivery of the Pembroke Road Re-Development Mobilisation Project for a state of the art Workshop and Waste Transfer Station.

The role holder will be responsible for leading the management interface between the construction of the near £10million build and the operational requirements.

This will involve identifying key stakeholders and establishing a project board, implementing key project management tools and tracking a mobilisation budget of £450k.

As the Workshop is due to open in August 2020 and the Waste Transfer Station in December 2020, key milestones are set and deliverables must be achieved. Once both developments are open, mobilisation continues as day-to-day operations require establishing and embedding.

Key Responsibilities

Act as a Project Manager in the delivery of the Pembroke Road Re-development Mobilisation Operational Project utilising the PRINCE 2 methodology.

Lead and manage all interface between the build project team and the operational clients.

Lead and manage the mobilisation of the new site and ensure all operational requirements are implemented including compliance across a range of governing bodies (Environment Agency, Health and Safety Executive and DVSA).

Maintain document control procedures, including all project files, in particular,

    • Produce and deliver project working documents such as the Project Initiation Document, Communications Plan and Work Stage Plans.
    • Develop Project planning; tracking progress against the critical path;
    • Manage the co-ordination of internal or external advisors.
    • Manage the risk management process
    • Run project meetings and provide project updates to senior stakeholders including cabinet membersProvide technical project advice to the project.To liaise with other service units in the Council and external organisations on the implications of the Project.
    • Work with technical operation staff to translate their requirements into deliverables, meeting strict legislative constraints.
    • To co-ordinate dissemination of information on progress of the Project to stakeholders.
    • Completion of all required reports and presentations, including sign off by senior stakeholders.

Qualifications / Experience:

  • Has worked for at least 3 or more years in a Project Management Environment.
  • Quality review of work package to evaluate achievement of customer requirements
  • Dealing with enquiries / complaints and managing timely responses
  • Managing small budgets or helping to monitor project budgets

Working hours:

  • 37.5 hours a week
  • Monday to Friday

Pay rates:

£22.80 p/h LTD via own Limited company and Umbrella Provider
