Lead Performance Analyst – Solar PV & ESS

Job Description:

Our client is one of the UK’s leading Solar PV Operations and Maintenance provider.  They are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and ambitious individual to lead their highly skilled and experienced team.

The Lead Performance Analyst will lead the Performance Team which actively monitors over 1GW of solar PV and energy storage assets across the UK on behalf of their clients.

 

Responsibilities

  • Oversee 7 days-a-week, 365 days per year Monitoring operation with a team of Performance Analysts covering the entire portfolio of sites, with a second in command, Lead Analyst.
  • Maintain and improve their systems for rapidly identifying faults and making them available in the best format possible for actioning by the rest of the O&M business.
  • Coach and develop the monitoring team to ensure a consistent and high-quality service.
  • Oversee the compilation and distribution of asset performance data to both management and Clients in the form of official reports in line with internal and external deadlines.
  • Perform analyses to identify root causes and actionable issues on sites (e.g., desktop string tests), underperformance reporting and analysis.
  • Oversee the contractual performance calculations between the Performance Analyst and Client Portfolio team.
  • Regularly review operational performance in line with contract. Individual/portfolio performance ratios and inverter availability, or BESS availability to ensure minimal impact of liquidated damages.
  • Manage performance improvement strategies, working in collaboration with the engineering team for repowering of sites when/if applicable.
  • Additional performance analysis following test results from field operations teams; Module thermography, string testing, IV curve testing/tracing comparable characteristics.
  • Provide guidance and prioritisation to the Field team and Regional Operation Managers to determine their focus in delivering maximum uptime of communications, production, and irradiance data from site.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or similar
  • Strong technical and engineering understanding of solar operations and monitoring platforms.
  • Thorough intangible understanding of solar performance metrics and calculations.
  • Fluency in Excel and databases, with strong analytical & modelling skills.
  • An understanding of the characteristics of solar and a passion for renewable technologies. 
  • Demonstrated project management capabilities
  • Significant demonstrable relevant work experience
