Land Acquisition Manager – Renewable Energy Remote

Expired

Job Description:

Our client is a private equity backed group of companies investing in solar, battery storage and complementary technologies.

Their background is primarily in the development, financing, sale and acquisition of solar energy projects, both for themselves and for external clients.

Recently, the group has established a renewable energy consultancy to advise landowners and developers on the development of a substantial pipeline of renewables assets, primarily unsubsidised solar PV and battery storage.

As such, an opportunity has arisen for a Land Acquisition Manager to join the advisory team and play a key role in expanding their portfolio of renewables development projects.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will manage the programme of prospecting for new suitable renewable energy development sites, from initial site identification through to completion of heads of terms with key stakeholders and to provide ongoing landowner liaison and support to the project planning and delivery team.

This will include:

  • Investigation of possible grid opportunities
  • Perform land feasibility reviews
  • Proactively sourcing suitable sites for development
  • Secure grid authorisation and obtain grid connection offers
  • Negotiating Heads of Terms
  • Ongoing landowner liaison and relationship management with key local stakeholders and communities
  • Identify and engage local high energy consumption users for private wire deals

Requirements

  • Self-motivated and enthusiastic with the ability to take ownership of the site identification process.
  • An outgoing and success driven individual (educated at least to degree level), you will have gained at least 3 years’ experience in the land/renewables sector and will be able to demonstrate a successful track record in securing land deals at interview.
  • An understanding of the electricity grid/grid applications and knowledge of the renewables industry are desirable.
  • The ideal candidate will also have a business-development mindset to add value to the client’s corporate market pipeline.
  • If you’re someone who can add immediate experience in terms of land acquisition of greenfield sites for utility scale projects but is willing and able to explore moving into the corporate market this role would suit you well.

You will benefit from a cohesive and successful team culture and the client can offer advancement within the group as its growth continues.
