If you are looking to cook fresh, simple pub food without all the fluff, this could be for you!

We are currently working with a lovely pub with rooms looking to recruit a Sous chef. 

The overall concept is freshly prepared flavoursome food made in house. 

So, we are looking for someone who loves good fresh pub food and likes a more relaxed service and dining to the customers. In return, this is not a harsh kitchen environment, and you won’t be slaving away in a hot sticky kitchen doing more hours than 50 a week. 

In terms of menu, a fair amount of the menu is developed and made in house. The menu comprises of your Classic pub food as well as some exciting dishes to be creative and express yourself. There is plenty of room for you to show your creativity and flair. Of course, the menu changes regularly and uses as much seasonal produce as possible from good local suppliers to reflect this. 

The food can be anything from the usual, steaks, burgers thick-cut sandwiches and fish and hand-cut chips to seared pigeon on barley risotto, crisp ham hock terrine and quails egg and simple house-made deserts. Desert/ pastry wise, it would be the case of having the basic pastry skills, being able to do or learn simple desserts such as sticky toffee pudding, tarts, brownies, panacottas and parfaits, for instance.

You will enjoy working in this lovely clean and equipped kitchen. It’s a small kitchen team, so you will need to able to work on your own and work well with others. You will also be responsible for helping keep it clean and organised and update paperwork. Furthermore, ordering when required.
