Job Description:

Role purpose

Deliver professional building control (regulations) approvals services within performance, financial and time constraints as required by the business, relevant legislation and standards.

To ensure a well managed working environment, leading by example both professionally and personally in providing excellence in service delivery.

To contribute to the achievement of business and quality objectives.

To work within the parameters of company directives, guidelines, policies and procedures to meet objectives and targets as required.

Responsibilities

* Conduct technical reviews of building control submissions. * Prepare and issue Plan Check Reports, Plans Certificates, Amendment Notices and Completion Certificates as necessary. * Carry out and progress consultations with the Fire and Water Authorities. * Attend meetings and liaise with clients, design teams, architects and contractors to progress submissions. * Conduct site visits and inspections and prepare reports, instigate follow up measures to ensure resolution of outstanding matters and contraventions.

* Work in a safe manner and highlight unsafe practices, hazards and health and safety issues as necessary. * Maintain expertise and required level of CPD as per company policy. Maintain up to date CPD records. * Adhere to Quality Management System policies and procedures and identify improvements as appropriate. Keep accurate and complete records. * Actively work to identify business development opportunities and promote services to clients.

* Mentor surveyors and administration staff to assist their development within the AI.

To carry out other duties as required from time to time by the Directors which are commensurate with the post/

Competencies, Qualifications and/or Experience

Whilst competencies have been defined for this specific position within the business, the Directors may amend them on the basis of individual circumstances to take account of particular attributes of candidates. In such circumstances a clear note will be made on the employee record so as to record where such instances have taken place.

1 Professionally qualified - minimum MRICS or MBEng or equivalent. 2 Minimum of 5 years experience in building control . 3 Comprehensive knowledge of legislation, guidance and standards relevant to specialisation.
