THE JOB TITLE: General Manager / Operations Manager

THE PRODUCT: Automotive Parts

THE SALARY PACKAGE: Up to £60,000 Basic + Bonus + Benefits

THE LOCATION: Durham

 

THE COMPANY:

A nationwide organisation that supplies automotive parts are growing in the North East and with a new branch opening, looking to take on the right person that savours the challenge.

 

THE ROLE OF A GENERAL MANAGER:

 

As the general manager you will be overseeing and responsible for the day to day running of the branch and treating it as if it was your business.

This will be a challenging role that where your priority will constantly be shifting as you enable and improve on all areas of the branch. You will be spearheading efforts to not only grow sales (requiring you to be in front of the customers) but ensuring the efficient running of the operation as well.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Managing P&L of the business unit
  • In charge of a team including parts advisors, warehouse and delivery drivers
  • Create and cultivate local relationships with fleet / workshop customers
  • Lead from the front and motivate the team
  • Set targets for all members of staff to achieve – with the ultimate aim of growing the branch turnover and profit.

 

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

 

This organisation are looking for the right person, not necessarily the most direct fit in terms of background experience. This means that you could have come from a variety of different backgrounds, including Retail / Logistics / 3PL / FMCG / Parts / Fast Food / Rental etc… As long as you have the will and the character to set out what you’re going to achieve, and achieve it, this is the right role for you.

  • A relationship builder who understands how to open, develop and maximise account revenue

  • Demonstrable previous sales / customer development / target achievements
  • An organiser who knows how to manage his/her people and use each resource in the right location to achieve the desired goal
