Full Time            37.5 hours per week

Location:            Dorset    

 

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Learning Disabilities Support Manager within one of our client’s new locations in Dorset.

This brand new project will be home to people with learning disabilities and associated support needs, across 18 supported living flats on one site, in a stunning location.

For some people this may be their first time move so you will quickly build strong, professional and trustworthy relationships with all people involved and work creatively and professionally to ensure that the needs of the individuals are met, in the lead up to moving into their new home, to when they actually move in. Ensuring the people we support are involved every step of the way and creating access to all choices where possible, enabling self-belief and control.

Support Manager Key Responsibilities:-

  • Carry out initial assessments from referrals, plan and attend initial meetings to get to know the people our client will be supporting
  • Recruit a team of support workers
  • Direct line manage the team, providing regular supervisions, appraisals and inductions
  • Promoting team development and effectiveness
  • Ensure the highest standards are met in the preparation of risk assessment, support plans and person centred plans.
  • Ensuring weekly rotas are providing appropriate support hours.

Support Manager salary and benefits:-

  • Competitive Salary - £28,982 per annum
  • 28 days holiday rising to 33 day with length of service

Previous experience in managing similar locations for people with learning disabilities is essential and an NVQ 5 Diploma in Health and Social Care, or willing to work towards this qualification is a must. This location may also have one short term/Move On flat, so experience in carrying out needs assessments and transition is also required.
