Job Scope:

The provision of first line technical support for company products. Responsibility for setting up and conducting acceptance tests for customer systems, these could be independently on behalf of a customer, customer witnessed or via remote video link.

The technical support engineer will be responsible for the recording of the results and reporting any issues identified using the business software suites available (IFS, JIRA for example)

Responsibilities;

  • Gain a good understanding of what components are used within navigation and shore based radar systems, including advantages and disadvantaged of different interfacing methods.
  • Set up systems and complete acceptance tests in support of Programmes Team.
  • Create reports and update issues within JIRA when system issues are reported during FAT, HAT, STW, SAT on products.
  • Generate reports on product issues as they are identified.
  • A willingness to travel. (NB whilst this role is based at our Enfield premises, a certain amount of business travel may be required depending upon project requirements).

Requirements;

  • Good experience in an engineering or manufacturing environment.
  • Experienced in Testing (including RF) and Fault Diagnosis.
  • Experience in completing test at system level.
  • Experience in generating technical reports.
  • Ability to understand wiring schedules and mark up errors as they are found.
  • Understand networking (multicast, unicast, broadcast and ring topology networks)
  • Analytical approach to problem solving with strong numeracy and literacy skills.

  • The flexibility to apply skills and knowledge across a number of different projects and products across the organisation.
  • Proven proactive ability, with strong team skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to plan and prioritise your own work.
  • Calmness under pressure
  • A high level of PC literacy and knowledge of Microsoft Office & Networking Skills.
  • Good inter-personal skills with the ability to communicate to all levels within the organisation and externally.
  • Computer literate with a good standard of written English, capable of compiling accurate, detailed and well-presented technical proposals, specifications and reports.
  • Ability to gain UK Security Clearance.
  • UK Driving Licence.
