Documentation Engineer


Job Description:

You will be based at the office in Birmingham, however occasional travel will be required.

The Documentation Engineer will oversee the preparation and development of all key project documents which will include (as required by the particular project):

  • Suppliers operating and maintenance manual
  • System operating and maintenance manual
  • Certification File
  • Installation Qualification Protocol (IQ)
  • Commissioning Procedure
  • Operation Qualification Protocol (OQ)
  • Site Acceptance Test

Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Compiling Documentation for projects within the Technology Projects Department
  • Coordinating with the Project Managers and sub-contractors / suppliers to achieve the required projects objectives and documentation deliverables
  • The review and clarification of Vendor drawings / documentation, project documentation and standards
  • Visits to Clients, sites, suppliers and other locations as required to review and maintain documentation standards
  • Attending commissioning and testing activities to develop commissioning protocols
  • Discuss with clients tailor made documentation structure and presentation
  • To develop and maintain good working relationships with customers through providing best in class quality service
  • General support within the projects department for administration
  • Providing practical support on validation to Sales and Contracts staff as appropriate on specific quotations / contracts
  • To always present a professional image to customers whether by telephone, in writing or in person
  • Timely reporting on progress or delays

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Educated to HNC level in an engineering or related discipline
  • A passion for customer satisfaction and relationship development
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Be results oriented and have a 'can do' attitude
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and the wider business
  • Ability and experience of being able to work to a dead-lines and to plan tasks around the timescales of others, with excellent time management skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and thoroughness
  • Resilient, self motivated and able to work well under pressure
  • Good knowledge of Google Application Suite and / or Microsoft Office packages (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
