The Job

The Equipment Leader will coordinate instrument validation, instrument calibration, planned maintenance and breakdown maintenance of analytical equipment in the Pharma Services Laboratories. This includes planning and scheduling the workload of the Analytical Equipment Team and external contractors.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the maintenance and management of the Calibration Schedule and Planned Maintenance program for analytical equipment in Pharma Services Laboratories (Charnwood).
• Oversee and/or carry out Data Integrity assessments within the Charnwood site and the wider Pharma Services business.
• Ensure that the approach taken by the Charnwood site to Data Integrity remains compliant and consistent with best practice.
• Schedule workloads to ensure timely responses to breakdowns of critical analytical equipment.
• Plan the workload of the Equipment Technicians and prioritise duties to ensure the availability of analytical instrumentation in order to meet project requirements.
• Schedule maintenance and calibration performed by external service providers for analytical equipment and confirm their quality of service.
• Act as the primary point of contact for the contractors and service providers, and work with them to ensure they fulfil their contractual obligations both in terms of service delivery and quality.

Skills

• Experience of calibrating scientific analytical equipment
• Experience of working in a GMP or GLP environment
• B.Sc. (or equivalent) in a Science, Engineering or Information Technology Subject
