Package - £36,675 Overtime rate £19.29-£25.38 dependent on time completed. Contribution matched pension up to 10%, generous holiday

About the company

ATA is working with one of the UKs largest building materials manufacturers who is looking for an experienced maintenance engineer to join their team in the south of England. The company, who turn over £350million per annum have over 20 manufacturing sites dotted through the UK. The site based in Thatcham, has been a well-established employer in the area for over 40 years and has seen continuous periods of significant growth in recent times. This has allowed them to invest heavily into the site, running continuous improvement projects, training and developing employers and buying new plant machinery. The ongoing investment within the site has cemented their long-term commitment to the local area of being an employer of choice for the foreseeable future.

About the role

As a Maintenance engineer, you will be responsible for ppm and breakdown support for a busy production site that produces over 46000 meters of concrete blocks per year.  You will be responsible for maintaining plant machinery including cutters, overhead cranes, belt conveyors, roller conveyors, casting cars, robotics, shrink wrapping machinery and autoclaves.

You will have the responsibility of keeping breakdown time to a minimum, improving machine efficiency and working in conjunction with the groups LEAN and continuous improvement plans.

Further responsibilities include;

  • Compliance and health and safety.
  • Critical stock control.

About you

As a maintenance engineer should have the following:

  • A strong electrical skillset, ideally from working within an industrial environment (Dusty, hot and heavy).
  • Recognised engineering qualification (Level 3, or above)
  • Sound understanding of electrical health and safety practices.
  • Experience working within control panels
  • Experience fault finding electrically by using various methods.
