The Information Management & Information Technology (IM&IT) function is an exciting and diverse function that employs professionals from information management, information technology, information assurance and cyber security to management information and statisticians. We act as the 'digital partner' to DE&S, helping the whole organisation to embed new business processes, tools and technology while at the same time keeping us legal and our information protected. As a Junior BI Developer, you will work under the ambitious Business Intelligence and Analytics programme acting at the forefront of innovation. You will be involved in areas such as Data Warehousing/Extract Transform Load processing, visual analytics, predictive analytics and machine learning. Additionally you will be pivotal in supporting a portfolio of analytics projects across many functions of DE&S, identifying relevant technology and developing strategies for implementation.

You will be responsible for some of the below:

Gather, analyse, explore and visualise the data to present the 'story' of the data in a meaningful way.

Working with complex data sets and leading the development of advanced BI capability, through creating and deploying self-service reports and dashboards.

Debugging, monitoring, and troubleshooting BI solutions.

Lead the development and implementation of complex data models.

Be an active part of the MI & Data Analytics community, attend meetings and participate in working groups.

Work collaboratively with team members and actively grow your analytical and data handling knowledge.

Validate, store, process and protect data in order to make it reliable, highlighting any discrepancies and ensuring it is accessible to users in a secure authorised way.

Regularly use intellectual curiosity to explore data, models and software applications to support data mining and more efficient data manipulation and visualisation.

Identifying complex business problems whilst leveraging data value, use an evolving range of data analysis tools.

Identify patterns and trends to share insights with the team to inform business decisions.

To be found successful you must demonstrate the following:

Any experience using a data analytical tool to present information e.g. Data Warehousing experience Experience with using modern intelligence tools such as Miscrosoft power BI

It would benefit your application should you be able to demonstrate the following:

Application-agnostic Report Development experience

Highly desireable to have SSDT (SQL Server Development Tool) experience, including SSIS and SSAS

It would he highly desirable if you had data modelling experience

Have experience of Agile Continuous Improvement and collaborative ways of working
