COVID 19 Health Intelligence Programme lead needed in London £35-£45ph ref 7052

This is working full time hours on a years contract

 

The purpose of the role is to prevent and protect the people from the coronavirus pandemic, focusing on the Covid-19 community engagement response. You will demonstrate strategic public health leadership to reduce health inequalities and drive transformational change.

You will oversee the Covid-19 community engagement activity of the Healthy Communities team, allied partners and commissioned third sector community outreach providers. You will support the Safe Communities Programme Manager on the delivery and development of the Covid-19 community champions programme, You will support the Covid-19 community insights officer in the collection, collation, sharing and resulting action across the partnership’s engagement activity. The postholder will have strategic oversight of ensuring that key communications messaging and materials are tailored appropriately for different community groups in an ongoing way. This will involve supervision of staff on agreed projects and programmes and supervision of volunteers, trainees and academic placements.

The post holder reports to a Public Health Consultant and manages a time-limited Covid-19 community engagement programme group within the Public Health team. The post holder will routinely deputise for the Public Health Consultant where appropriate.

Requirements

We will be shortlisting applications against the following criteria:

Substantial experience (minimum of 5 years) of public health practice including 3 years at senior level.

Able to prioritise work, and work well against a background of change and uncertainty.

In depth understanding of effective ways of working with populations with high health needs and/or risk factors.

Good understanding of community engagement, community mobilisation and community empowerment to promote health and wellbeing.

Ability to transform research evidence into effective health information that can be used to improve health and well being.
