Job Title – Field Service Engineer

Location– Can be based anywhere in the UK

Package - £28k - £38k depending on experience + Overtime (circa £5k - £7k paid door to door) + car + fuel card

Hours of Work – Monday to Friday (Days) plus some Weekends.

The Company

Our client specialises in the design, manufacture, install and service of Flow Wrapping and Filling Machines for the Food Manufacturing Sector. With a turnover of over £100 million a year, this international business employs over 500 worldwide, having been established nearly 40 years. Due to a retiree the business are looking to recruit an experienced Field Service Engineer to join their well established team.

The Role

Working from home, the Field Service Engineer will be required to do planned and reactive maintenance on Horizontal and vertical Flow Wrappers, and Multi-head Weighing machines. Covering the whole of the UK, the work would be an equal split of Mechanical and Electrical work, with the Engineers required to stay away from home on average 2 to 3 days a week.

Scheduled Service Calls are booked in 3 to 6 months in advance, with the Field Service Engineers working on an On-Call Rota for breakdowns. The Engineers will also be required to assist with the installation of new equipment from time to time, however the vast majority of the work is planned maintenance tasks.

Electrically you would need to be able to fault find with a Multimeter, ready electrical drawings and working both DC and 3 phase systems, changing parts like for like and fault finding on PLC systems. Mechanical systems include gearboxes, pneumatics, shafts, bearings, guides, belts and pulleys.

The Candidate

To be successful in your application you must have the following skills or attributes:

• Must have a recognised Electrical or Mechanical Engineering Qualification.
• Must have worked on automated machinery before.
• Must be willing to travel UK wide and stay away when required.

Training

To begin with, the new recruit will spend the first month accompanying one of the Senior Engineer on customer visits, plus will also attend in house Product Training Course.
