Role – Electrical Bias Maintenance Engineer

Location – Leeds

Salary - £30-35k + overtime 1.5 and 2.0

Shift – Monday-Friday regular days + call out

My client is recruiting for an Electrical Bias Maintenance Engineer to join a team of highly skilled maintenance engineers at their site in Leeds, West Yorkshire. Their engineers are highly regarded in the industry and are part of a friendly and busy team. The day to day role is tailored to each engineer’s strength and training is provided on the go – so it’s imperative that you are hungry for success and eager to learn

The company

Extremely successful family owned business, employing over 50 staff at their site in Leeds with a turnover of £55million. They specialise in packaging (FMCG) and supply into some of the big boy food retailers across the UK inlcudning John Lewis. They are currently going through expansion and are building a new warehouse.

The role

As an Electrical Bias Maintenance Engineer, you will carry out day to day PPM’s and reactive maintenance in a timely manner on various packaging machinery; such as wrappers, palletisers, conveyors, labellers and much more. Help drive change, contribute on continuous improvements.

Day to day activities for the Electrical Maintenance Engineer

-          Electrical fault finding

-          Continuous improvement – working on high tolerance machinery and improving maintenance tasks

-          Carry out effective repairs to machinery and ensure minimal downtime is achieved

-          Ensure all safety protocol is carried out correctly

-          Teamwork and contribute to departments health and safety and repair improvements on machines

-          Electrical work – Single and 3 phase panes, motor change, PLC’s, inverters and drives

-          Mechanical work – Fault find, change gearboxes, shafts, conveyors, motors and belts

Ideal skills and requirements of the Electrical Maintenance Engineer

-          Hungry to learn and can step up to an engineering Manager’s position in next 5 years

-          Has worked on PLC’s (check inputs and outputs) (mandatory)

-          Has worked in a FMCG/Automation background (mandatory)

-          Qualified to an NVQ Level 3 in Electrical (mandatory) – HNC is desirable

-          Flexible in working hours – there will be the odd call outs which you will need to be prepared to do

-          To have worked on the above electrical components
