Electrical Maintenance Engineer 

Location - Birmingham

Salary - £35,000  OTE 40K plus callout + pension, 33 days holidays and excellent overtime

Shifts - 8:30 – 4:30pm Monday – Friday

An exciting opportunity has arisen for Electrical Maintenance Engineer for a well established company based in Kings Norton, Birmingham who have been trading for over 50 years. With this in mind, they supply a number of different products to several companies all across the world. Not only in the UK, they have a strong backing from their large american manufacturing group which ensures they stay up to date with the industry training that is needed on site to make day to day working as efficient as possible.

The Role

As an electrical maintenance engineer, you will be working in a heavy industry environment working on conveyors, extruders, PLCs, heating equipment, presses, heat transfer equipment, mixing equipment and silos.

Carrying out reactive maintenance on production equipment and machines across all the production facilities. The role will be 70% reactive and 30% PPM. You will be encouraged to have a direct input into the continuous improvement culture and have individual project ownership as you grow your career within the electrical maintenance team.

Carry out immediate repairs of production equipment and machines in the case of breakdowns with regards to all elements of failure. An electrical maintenance engineer will be responsible for maintaining PLC driven automated plant machinery (any experience with allan bradley and mistubishi is helpful) within the factory and all 3 phase equipment (415v). They would also like the electrical maintenance engineer to have knowledge of solenoids, motors and electrical interlocks.

Experience working as an electrical maintenance engineer in a heavy industry will be preferred but not essential.

As an Electrical Maintenance Engineer for this role you will need:

• NVQ Level 3 Electrical
• Worked in dirty or heavy industry manufacturing company
• Be able to fault find comfortably on PLCs
• Be confidient at reading electrical drawings
• Have experience with installations
