This is an exciting opportunity to join an established company as a Group Lead, where you will lead a newly created Technology group within Electro Optics and Sensors.

As a Group Lead you will be working across R&D, and both internal and external funding frameworks. You will lead a small team of Engineers and activities within the department, where you will create 'technology value' within the Department, undertaking the external business winning (and delivery.)

Internally you will connect with the future programme and portfolio demands, and develop the Electro Optic (EO) technology roadmaps to define the department's research and development programmes.

You will work closely with External Customers, technology partners and key suppliers.

Electro Optical (EO ) technology is a rapidly developing topic with a number of new and innovative approaches. The role offers the opportunity to contribute to this technology evolution, and grow your experience both in terms of team leadership and technical expertise.

Experience needed:

• Ideally qualified to degree-level or equivalent experience in a Physics or Engineering based subject, such as; Electronics, Hardware, Computer Science, Software or Systems Engineering etc.
• Experience / or good understanding in Electro - Optics (EO) current or previously.
• Experience of strong team leadership and practice of team management skills and tasks
• A good understanding of system design across the full lifecycle from requirements elicitation and management through to verification and validation.
• Experience in working on small projects, where budget and time constraints were key drivers to the project.
• Awareness of work package management, including risk management, finance control, programme management and reporting

Desirable:

• Experience working in the Defence, or Safety regulated industry.
• Experience of using technical software packages such as Mathworks and National Instruments products
• EO imaging technology.
