Working full time hours on a temporary basis.

We are looking to fill an essential role within Revenue Services leading a team of 32 in an income operational and verification role, providing an excellent service to the residents and businesses in accordance with legislation, local practices and strategies. The role will primarily deal with Council Tax and Business Rates but will include all income streams due to the Client.
Key responsibilities include –
Maximising revenue the Council receives from all areas of income by delivering efficient, progressive, high quality services, ensuring accelerated and sustained improvements against Council Targets.
To minimise losses of income due to tax avoidance schemes and fraudulent activity through improved data management and more collaborative approach with other directorates and government departments.
Responsible for the development of policy and strategy on all matters relating to income opportunities and risk from appeals and other fluctuations in the valuation list for both council tax and business rates.
Responsible for the provision of information and data for consultation documents and compiling all grant claims/statutory returns for Council Tax, National Non-Domestic Rates and other income in accordance with the legislative requirements within statutory time frames.
