Job Description:

Ashberry Recruitment are looking for a Registered/Home Manager for a client based in East Lancashire. 

The Home Manager is responsible for effectively and efficiently managing the home, including the staff, budgets, and resources to ensure that the highest possible standards of care are delivered and appropriately evidenced.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as senior professional person within the staff team
  • Ensure care and support provided to the young people is of the highest quality and that all needs are met, supporting the young people in achieving their full potential
  • Taking the lead in ensuring that all children and young people are safe guarded
  • Ensure key stages during a placement
  • Take the lead in the development, implementation and monitoring of individual care plans
  • Be responsible for undertaking and reviewing required risk assessments
  • Ensure detailed and accurate reports
  • Oversee the recording and report writing of staff and ensure that they are of an acceptable standard
  • Take a lead in any assessments that may be required
  • Work close with the following: Family members, Social Workers, Health professionals, Education professionals, Local authorities

Resources/Staffing

  • Managing staffing structure and rota, ensuring they meet the young people’s needs
  • Work closely with HR and comply with safer recruitment
  • Ensure new employees receive relevant induction
  • Ensure all employees receive regular and effective supervision and appraisal in line with National Minimum Care Standards
  • Ensure staff receive relevant training
  • Monitor and manage staff performance
  • Ensure effective team meetings take place
  • Manage budgets
  • Prepare budget reports

Leadership/Management

  • Overall responsibility of staff, delegating effectively and appropriately
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and management to all staff
  • Ensure all employees are aware of their responsibilities
  • Ensure the home is compliant with all Children’s Legislation and Regulations
  • Ensure high standards of care are developed and embedded within the culture of the home
  • When required, to work part of the rota to ensure adequate staffing levels are always maintained

Level 5 Qualification is required and experience of working in a similar role.
