• The Role

  • To test, repair and calibrate specific measuring equipment in line with policies and procedures traceable to British standards.
  • Manage and maintain calibration database.
  • Manage subcontract activities in line with on-site calibration and welding equipment.
  • Provide professional support, advice and guidance for all Quality aspects throughout the Business in relation to validation and calibration of equipment.
  • Work closely with the programmes and functions to ensure quality improvement initiatives are implemented and embedded.
  • Responsible for the calibration, testing, servicing and repair of tooling and equipment ensuring that these items are calibrated correctly in line with relevant standards
  • Management and maintenance of the Calibration Database and the distribution of the Tooling and Equipment Recall Report to all relevant stakeholders
  • Responsible for the arrangement and coordination of Calibration by External Service Providers (in-house and outsourced)
  • Production of certification / records and the management and filing of external certification
  • Monitoring and reporting of External Service Provider KPI's in order to drive improvement

  Core Duties

  • To test, repair and calibrate specific measuring equipment in line with policies and procedures traceable to British standards.
  • Managing and filing of internal and external certification
  • Producing calibration certificates for all equipment when required
  • Booking of all external calibrations for approved providers across multiple sites
  • Management of the standards tools and equipment and regular maintenance
  • Booking of contractors for onsite calibrations, escorting and reporting for non-portable equipment
  • Certification and identification checks of completed external calibrations through approved provider
  • Weekly Reporting (Calibration Recall / KPI Metrics)
  • Management of the calibration database
  • Stakeholder Engagement (attending weekly meetings / Ops / IWT etc.)
  • Issue and Management of Non Conformances (internal and external)
  • Supplier Engagement (monthly meetings / focal point for supplier email correspondence and calls)
  • Management of welding calibration visits (with approved providers), internal stakeholder engagement and reporting on a weekly basis
  • Management of invoices from approved service providers (verification of activity)
  • Support quality function and programme internal audit schedule
  • Support investigations as per function and programme requirements

  Functional Knowledge

  • Provide knowledge and support of delivering quality improvement
  • Knowledge of Quality tools and techniques
  • Knowledge, particularly within the areas of mechanical tooling and equipment, quality assurance, product assurance, quality management and third party management
  • Knowledge of management systems, including ISO9001, 17025 testing and calibration laboratories and their application to projects equipment
  • Internal auditor qualified (desirable)
