Job description
This a high-profile role working in the Transformation Directorate (TD) Directors Private Office as a Diary Secretary. Your role will be multifunctional supporting the Director as well as the Deputy Directors (DD). The role of Director for Transformation in CCG has been newly created and tasked with building a clear strategy and roadmap with the right resources, structures and programme management processes in place to help CCG optimally deliver its transformation over the coming years and also to make sure the broader HMRC changes are embedded more effectively.

Diary manager to the Director and/or DD’s for Transformation is a fast-paced, exciting and high-profile role. As the successful candidate, you will be a core member of the Private Office, providing excellent support and engaging with colleagues across CCG and working closely with the Director Generals office. You will be expected to be flexible and multifunction with your skills to cover a range of duties for the Director and DD’s while covering other Diary Secretaries already in the PO.

Responsibilities
-Working collaboratively and confidentially with the Director and DD’s.

-Being a highly professional point of contact for the Director and DD’s through the Private Office, ensuring emails are dealt with quickly and issues are identified and raised appropriately.

-Proactively plan, prioritise and manage the inbox, workload and target dates. Taking ownership for delivery and prioritising workflow.

-Use good judgement and adding value to work that comes in, by ensuring accurate and complete products and proactively progressing and taking forward a variety of issues and tasks.

-Accurately establishing, interpreting and representing the Director and DD’s views in correspondence.

-Collaborating closely with and influencing key partners, within HMRC and OGDs, appreciating connections and dependencies across HMRC and working optimally with others to ensure that HMRC and the DG’s objectives are aligned.

-Prepare briefings as required.

-Support the head of office in the day to day runnings of the office

Essential Criteria:

-Excellent judgement and decision making skills, with the ability to work on your own initiative.

-Ability to prioritise and reprioritise work, using good judgement to understand the risks of the re-prioritisation, and the ability to multi-task, ensuring delivery within a complex and fast paced landscape.

-Strong organisational skills, including an ability to be self-starting; work optimally and remain professional in a highly pressurised environment and have the ability to work to tight target dates.

-An ability to work within ambiguity, to offer innovative solutions and make sound decisions, exercising judgement and understanding corporate strategy and priorities.

-Excellent written and oral communication skills, with well-developed drafting skills and attention to detail
