THE JOB TITLE: Business Development Manager

THE PRODUCT: Automotive / Industrial Products & Consumables

THE SALARY PACKAGE: up to £42,000 Basic + Bonus + Car + Benefits

THE COMPANY:

A global business that supplies a range of automotive products and consumables into a variety of different markets, including automotive and industrial customers.

 

THE ROLE OF A BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER:

 

This company are looking to expand on the role of business development manager. You will not be an order taker but more of a business consultant where your role will primarily revolve around working with the customer base in a fully encompassing approach.

 

This approach will entail spending time to really get to know your customers and their individual needs, wants and pressures – allowing you to create more tailored and bespoke solutions and work with them to help sell your products. You will have support in all areas to pass on to your customers which will include training, marketing, promotions, workouts, trade shows and merchandising.

The customer base is generally made up of distributors (both large and small) and large end users. Although there is plenty of account management to be done, there will also be an opportunity to introduce yourself and work with new businesses as well. You will also be helped with a wide range of high-quality products at a competitive price meaning there will always be more chances to grow your portfolio.


Working from home, you will manage your own workload, diary and journey plan and work closely with both the sales manager and other sales team members to pursue the overall objective and ensuring continued growth.

 

EXPERIENCE IDEALLY REQUIRED FOR A BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER:

 

This role requires two things above all else.

Firstly, someone that has experience in business development and account management in a field-based capacity and can prove where they have had previous success.

Secondly, someone that is able to treat each customer as an individual, not a transaction. Being smart in their approach to spend time with the customer and really understand their needs and requirements in order to create a unique offering.

 

Alongside these 2 important attributes, you should be enthusiastic, ambitious, self-sufficient and have a will to succeed and challenge yourself daily.
