Labourer / General Operative / Storesperson – Manufacturing / Production Environment

Based in Prestonpans, Near Musselburgh – 2 week temporary contract (may extend)

£9.00 per hour PAYE

This well-established company are currently going through a serious investment project and they are in the process of refurbishing their office and production facility. As a result they are looking for some labour support to ensure that they can complete the refurbishment on time and to budget.

The role of a Labourer will involve:

• Removing all furniture (desks, chairs, filing cabinets, drawers etc) from the office areas
• Clearing out any flooring
• Use a pallet truck for heavy pieces of furniture
• Once the furniture is stored, support the manufacturing team in the moving of machines on the shopfloor
• Move all stock in the stores
• General labour and housekeeping duties
• Ensuring Health & Safety policies are followed
• Possibility of operating overhead crane, if the individual has the relevant ticket

The candidate must possess the following skills & experience to be considered for this role:

• Previous experience in working in a physical role ideally within a manufacturing or production environment
• Be hard working
• Know how to operate a pallet truck
• Ideally experience of operating an overhead crane
• Show enthusiasm
• Ability to work on own initiative
