Ethics & Compliance Forensic Monitoring and Investigations Lead

 

Ethics and Compliance leads assurance efforts for Compliance with company Policies, Procedures, and local industry code and regulations globally.   Additionally, the Ethics and Compliance (E&C) team partners with internal functional teams to drive the integration high performance with high integrity through advising on specific activities and tactics and monitoring key risk areas associated with those business areas.  Similarly, E&C is called upon to direct certain high-risk, non-privileged investigations with qualified HR investigator personnel.  These investigations occur globally and require appropriate oversight.
 
The Ethics and Compliance Forensic Monitoring and Investigations Lead will be responsible for leading and conducting forensic monitoring activities to evaluate adherence to Company Policies, Procedures, and local industry code and regulations globally, as well as overseeing the direction of non-privileged, level-3 investigations conducted by qualified HR investigators.  This position will report into Sr Advisor for Anti-Corruption and Investigations, based in the United States.  Work activities will be focused on conducting additional monitoring beyond that completed by the local E&C staff in specific geographies.   Training, qualification and oversight for monitoring activities will be provided by the Global Ethics and Compliance function.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead understanding of known company risks, industry wide risks and drive forensic assessments and monitoring of company business practices using monitoring programs and protocol for specific business activities.
  • Direct and conduct forensic data analysis on identified transactions/transaction types to determine themes and/or identify risk areas.  
  • Oversee the E&C Investigations Director to ensure high risk, non-privileged investigations are conducted appropriately and effectively.
  • Direct qualified global investigators in conducting high-risk, non-privileged investigations.
  • Ensure any allegation is well understood, defined, and documented by the global investigator. For highest risk investigations, provide oversight for the written investigation plan, including interviews, document review, and data collection, all to uncover the root cause of the misconduct.
  • Provide ongoing subject-matter expertise to E&C director of investigations or HR qualified investigator during the investigation process.
  • Provide oversight to qualified investigators and the E&C director of investigations to ensure process to assess preliminary root cause and recommend a conclusion is effective and is well documented.
  • Partner with Affiliate Ethics & Compliance Officers (“ECO”) to ensure clear understanding of the alleged misconduct and identified root cause. 
  • Support the ECO and E&C Leadership in communicating identified misconduct and root cause, and drive business leadership to develop, document, and implement effective CAPA to mitigate future recurrence.
  • Ensure the investigations case management system documentation of allegation, investigation, resolution, root cause, and CAPA is thorough and complete.

 

Basic Qualifications

  • Proficiency in English language
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Prior experience as investigator, auditor or ethics and compliance monitor
  • Strong communication skills
  • Technical skills with attention to details
  • Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in Ireland
  • Juris Doctorate or equivalent, OR CPA or equivalent, OR Certified Fraud Examiner
