This is a fantastic time to join as a Senior Software Engineer, as the company are looking to evolve their Software Development environment to support communities of Developers working both locally and worldwide. You will be collaborating to produce products of the highest technical standards, and as part of the Infrastructure Team you will also be expected to be proficient with Linux (RedHat) and ideally be capable of providing expertise in the areas of installation, configuration and optimization of the operating systems they use.

The team are seeking a Software Engineer with experience in DevOps. You will have knowledge of Virtualization, Containerization and Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) to design, deploy and maintain a scalable infrastructure capable of hosting multiple software development teams across different sites, countries and projects.

Experience needed:

• Engineering Degree in a related discipline for example; Software Engineering, Systems Engineering or Computer Science.
• Hands on experience of DevOps practices and tools.
• Knowledge of Software Engineering best practices, methodologies, processes and tools.
• Experience in the Construction & Maintenance of the Software Development Environment
• Experience in Linux Operating System configuration.
• Linux application management and deployment.

Desirable:

• Knowledge of C++ or Java Development
• Proficient with a variety of Software Configuration Tools including SVN and GIT
• VMware ESXi
• Knowledge of RedHat OpenShift
• Knowledge of Red Hat configuration including production of Kickstart files
• Experience of Red Hat Linux application development
• Red Hat certification (RHCSA, RHCE) or similar
• Knowledge of IP Network design and optimization
• Knowledge of RTI DDS

Highly Desirable:

• Virtualization, Containerization
• Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience in the Defence / Aerospace or Safety Regulated Engineering Sector.
