Shipping Clerk & Logistics

Consistent Recruitment is currently supporting an Essex based retail company in their search for a Logistics/Shipping person to join them.

Traditionally, this Logistics job has revolved around getting the stock in from overseas and moving it to the respective destinations.  The shipping has been outsourced to a freight forwarder, but this can now be flexible dependent upon the new employee as there are several other tasks which can be added with the right person in place including bringing some of the freight forwarding back inhouse and costs exercises.

Current duties have been;

• Liaising with freight forwarders, obtaining up to date shipping information
• Booking stock into the warehouses, getting high priority products on available containers
• Dealing with all supplier documentation ensuring there are no document discrepancies before shipping
• Liaise with the buying, sales teams, warehouse, suppliers and freight forwarders in a clear and concise manner
• Producing various reports and distributing accordingly
• Creating new part numbers, updating the internal and external systems ensuring a high level of accuracy (java)
• De-listing products and amending trade prices
• Dealing with urgent transfers between warehouses
• Maintain product pallet quantities and monthly list of dispatch on system
