Job Description:

Electrical Maintenance Engineer

Shifts – 4on 4off – 2 days/2 nights average of 37.5 hours per week

Location - Leicestershire

Salary - £45,200

Pension - 6% employee & 9% employer

The company

My client is a global company operating across every continent employing over 2,000 staff in the UK. Established over 36 years ago, with a multi-million-pound turnover business, our client continues to grow from strength to strength using the latest technology while also minimising its impact on the environment.

Their site in Leicester is renowned for their quality and customer service, offering their clients, who are some of the world’s leading brands, solutions to meet all their packaging needs.

They are going through unprecedented growth and their production has beaten all previous records and targets for 2021 are even higher.

Due to this demand the business now requires a number of additional new electrical engineers to ensure customer orders are met on time and in full. This is a demanding role in a high-speed manufacturing environment where quality is paramount to everything they do.

The business has a real focus on engineering and has an academy and apprenticeship programme and this role will offer you the chance to mentor those beginning their career within maintenance.

The Role

The electrical maintenance engineer will be responsible for all fault finding and rectification work on production lines on site. This would include fault finding on a PLC via a laptop, reading schematics, replacing like for like and working towards a culture of CI.

You will ideally have knowledge of working on Allen Bradley PLCs but experience on other PLCs would also be ok.

You will work with a team of highly skilled engineers who will support you on shift and you will also mentor junior engineers as they pass through their apprenticeship programme on site.

The Candidate

To be successful in your application you must have the following skills, abilities or qualifications:

  • Must have a recognised electrical engineering qualification (apprenticeship, NVQ level 3, BTEC, ONC, C&G, HNC, HND).
  • Experience of working within a FMCG or Automated Production environment.
  • A positive can-do attitude.
