Job Description:

Our Bristol based Software consultancy client are looking for experienced Azure Cloud Engineers cross the UK.  As a leading government software provider, this company has gone from strength to strength over the last few years with their involvement in innovative Agile technology government programmes.

 

As an integral part of the team, you will deal with all members of the company’s internal software development and support team. You be required to work alongside their Senior Management Team. 

 

Externally you will liaise with customers, including several local authorities, suppliers and service providers. You will deal with customers face to face (when allowed due to Covid-19), by telephone, Teams, WebEx, as well as in written communication form. You will be required to attend customer sites throughout Europe.

 

Using own initiative, you will work in volumes and prioritise your work load.  You will report any issues to senior management and comply to the Data Protection Act 2018, which is the UK’s implementation of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

 

You will primarily be managing and supporting customer environments in Microsoft Azure cloud, VMs within Azure and maintaining Cloud network.

 

You will be defining Cloud strategy and developing Cloud migration plans, whilst resolve issues that arise during integration/system deployments.

 

/In addition, you will be identify tools needed to monitor custom solutions put in place by Solution Architects and Implementation Engineers.

Analyse logs and error messages to determine source of issue

 

 

The ideal candidates will have good knowledge of Agile methodology and will have been an IT professional for at least 5 + years of experience as a full time IT professional.

 

Ideally with 3+ years’ experience implementing Azure Cloud

Ideally with 2+ Years’ experience working with Unix/Linux/Windows Platforms

Ideally with 2+ Years exposure with VMware Virtualization

 

Microsoft Azure Certification (MCSE: Cloud Platform and Infrastructure or equivalent preferable)

 

Hands on experience using the Azure administration portal

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Math or Engineering preferable

Demonstrable experience deploying enterprise workloads to Azure

 

Knowledge of at least one other cloud hosting solution in addition to Azure (e.g., Google, AWS, Helion Cloud, SoftLayer).

Experience with Backup and Recovery Solutions

Knowledge security and compliance controls

 

Comfortable with web technologies including HTTPS, SSL/TLS, and REST

Working experience with monitoring and notification systems

Familiar with Continuous Delivery pipelines

 

Experience designing and supporting enterprise core services as well as cloud deployments of these services

 

Extensive knowledge of the Microsoft Enterprise software products and services

Business Continuity or Disaster Recovery planning experience, a plus

Our clients are offering a salary £35k to £45k depending on attitude, experience, skills and knowledge.

 

The role will be fully supported remotely, with monthly or quarterly company meetings, once restrictions are lifted.
