Applications Engineer

3-month contract

£30.00 - £35.00 p/h DOE

I am recruiting for a key client based in East Yorkshire, who are a recognised UK manufacturing organisation supplying customers worldwide, who operate within a modern and dynamic facility.

My client based in Humberside, due to continual growth and an uplift in sales orders, are looking for an Applications Engineer to help with the backlog.

For this position, you will require to conduct the following daily duties:

v  Technical application and support of new and existing valve products, including direct customer interaction

v  Generation of specifications for Design Proposals, Manufacture and Operation of the company's Product Portfolio

v  AutoCAD 2D/3D Solidworks and/or NX software, and PDM/PLM systems

v  Perform engineering and support activities across all technical departments

v Understanding of the context where product or solution is used and how different ways of operating and maintaining affects life cycle costs

v  Understanding of customer’s and/or supplier’s manufacturing, assembly and/or installation methods, logistics and the related costs and can apply this knowledge in proposals to customers

v  How changes in the product design or functionality impact on the total solution

The successful person will need to have the following attributes:

v  Qualified in Mechanical Engineering – high level apprenticeship / HNC / BEng etc.

v  High level of experience in Mechanical Engineering design and 2D/3D CAD

v  High level of customer interface experience – interpreting customer requirements/specifications

v  Experience of working within a PDM-PLM environment

v  Applied experience of an FEA tool would be beneficial

v  Valves expert
