Our Client is looking for an experienced Neighbourhood Area Manager to work on a 36 hour per week contract role to start on the 9-10-17 until the 31-12-17 with a likely extension to the contract.
Hours: 9:00 am to 5:30 pm,
Neighbourhood Area Manager. The post holder will manage a team of Neighbourhood Officers including anti-social behaviour officers. The manager will ensure that his team are pro-actively carrying out envirocrime enforcement (fly tipping, littering, waste containment, dirty land, flyposting, dog fouling, graffiti, etc.), dealing with anti-social behaviour, noise & nuisance (including out of hours) and monitoring street cleansing, waste collection and grounds maintenance contracts. This post requires flexible working hours including weekends and evenings, participation in a duty roster, including the Local Authority Liaison Officer roster, and use of own vehicle to travel between places of work/activity. PLEASE NOTE THIS IS NOT A HOUSING ROLE. All candidates must hold current driving licence and use of own car.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
A minimum of 3 years’ experience of managing a multi-disciplinary regulatory, enforcement and waste management team in a local authority context.
Experience in organising and carrying out enforcement operations with relevant partners.
Experience of working in waste management including undertaking NI195 street cleansing surveys to assess performance.
Experience of dealing with conflict
Experience of managing budgets and generating income.
Ability to lead and motivate a diverse workforce.
Experience of supervising paperwork for legal proceedings and PACE interviews.
Ability to work in a pressurised environment and meet tight deadlines.
Good communication skills and ability to prepare and present reports to senior management.
Ability to build relationships with internal and external providers.
