Asset Data Governance Specialist

The Asset Data Governance Specialist will play an active role in managing the running and effectiveness of the asset data governance process, including adapting the process and documentation for new needs. They will develop and maintain the components of the asset data governance structure, including taxonomies, data standards and business rules, as well as drive behavioural change through the business to ensure that all functions understand their role in improving and maintaining asset data quality.

Responsibilities

• Engage with stakeholders across the business to embed a Systems Thinking approach with particular focus on the management and governance of asset and systems data.
• Working with teams across the business to develop the processes, asset data framework, guidance document and business rules that form part of the asset data governance process to enable asset data quality to be improved in the business.
• Ensure the alignment of asset data management practices with the overall business strategy for data governance and work to ensure that it incorporates industry best practice.
• Work with the business functions to support initiatives aimed at improving asset data.
• Work with the business to deliver meaningful reporting on asset data health and progress being made to improve it.
• Raise the profile of asset data within the business and work with stakeholders across all functions and externally to drive up awareness and understanding of good asset data practices.
• Assist and support the business to adapt to managing new forms of asset and system data.
  

Qualifications

• A degree level education in either the Sciences, Engineering, Geography or Project Management
• Experience with data governance initiatives and implementation
• Knowledge and use of the systems thinking approach
• Confident stakeholder management skills
• Project management and organisational abilities
• Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
