Our manufacturing client have been at the forefront of nuclear and rail fabrication and production for many years.

Their quality of work and processes that their clients have become accustomed to are a priority within the company.  Due to an increase in high profile projects, they are looking for a new QHSE Engineer to work alongside their Quality Manager.  This is a fantastic opportunity for someone to develop their Quality, Health & Safety career.

The role will require you to maintain and monitor of all aspects of the company’s integrated management system, incorporating quality, health & safety and environment throughout.

You will be proactively developing the management system to maintain and improve its performance and will be assisting the Quality Manager in the maintenance and development of the management systems in order to retain certification and utilise it as a means of continuous improvement.

On a day-to-day basis you will be assisting the Quality Manager in maintaining the management systems of the company e.g. by identifying trends in non-conformances, performing audits and supplier assessments.

  • Maintain Welder qualification maintenance logs.
  • Preparation of Non-conformance Reports.
  • Maintain calibration records.
  • Liaise with outside inspectors and auditors
  • Manage and develop Company Instructions
  • Review NDT and inspection reports
  • Create Inspection reports
  • Carry out Internal and Supplier audits.
  • Assist with Customer Audits.
  • Maintain the “Quality Controlled Forms” system
  • Update standards
  • Housekeeping of Company systems
  • Adding new tools onto Progress Plus
  • Monitor shop floor activities.
  • To verify traceability of components is maintained throughout all manufacturing and inspection operations.
  • Record returned and reworked items on non-conformances.
  • Perform inspection on the shop floor where required (e.g. PMI, Ferrite, Hardness, UT Thickness, Clad Thickness, Dimensional etc)
  • Review and agree personal development objectives annually with your line manager.
  • Carry out shop/station audits
  • Assist the inspectors if they require further information to check conformance
  • Carry out tool calibration

Ideally the candidate will have previous experience in a Health & Safety role in an engineering, production, manufacturing, warehouse or factory environment.

 

 

The ideal candidate must be aware of the responsibility placed on them as a result of the Health and Safety at Work Act (1974) to maintain a safe working environment for the individual, colleagues and visitors.  It is your responsibility to assure your own and your colleagues' safety.

You will hold a City & Guilds, NVQ or HNC qualification and it would be ideal if the candidate has the IOSH or NEBOSH.
