SEN Teacher – East London – ASAP Start!

£160 - 200 p/day

Long term/Full Time

A SEN School in Romford are looking for a SEN Teacher to support their ASD Pupils. This “Good” Special Secondary School supports pupils by focusing on their Social and Emotional Wellbeing. The pupils here are primarily Autistic with associated needs including ADHD, Behavioural and Speech, Language and Communication difficulties.

With the help of Teaching Assistants and active support from the Head of Key Stage, you will be encouraging your class to re-settle into their routines and familiarise themselves with a physical learning environment again. Differentiating curriculum across a variety of subjects to match the needs of your class and fill any gaps in their knowledge that they may have. Though a Secondary School, your class will accessing KS2 Level.

To make a positive impact here:

  • You will ideally be a confident SEN Teacher who has experience in supporting Autism, ADHD Challenging Behaviour and Speech, Language and Communication Needs. Teachers with SEN experience with other needs are also warmly welcomed to apply!
  • You will preferably have a background teaching a KS2 SEN Class but we will still consider SEN Teachers with experience teaching other Key Stages.
  • You will be experienced in developing and delivering a creative, differentiated curriculum to encourage Child Development.

Person Specification - SEN Teacher

  • Experience supporting pupils by delivering a diverse, differentiated curriculum
  • Must hold QTS and have experience developing SEN pupils
  • Compassionately develops ASD pupils
  • Ability to engage pupils working with needs associated with Global Delay
  • Experience organising a team of support staff.
