Job Description:

You will be responsible for the management of a busy work environment, ensuring that the needs of the organisation, employees, contractors and visitors are met with appropriate facility and infrastructure in place.

Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

  • Oversee and agree contracts and providers for services including security, parking, cleaning catering etc
  • Responsible for multi-disciplinary teams of staff including cleaning, maintenance grounds and security
  • Ensure basic facilities such as water and heating are well maintained
  • Manage budgets and ensuring cost effectiveness
  • Allocate and manage space between buildings
  • Ensure facilities meet government regulations and environments, health, and security standards
  • Advise the business on increasing energy efficiency and cost
  • Responsible for lifting equipment and yard transport
  • Develop a rota for storm weather
  • Security management - random checks ensuring protection of employees and products
  • Manage the allocation and utilisation of space and resources for new buildings or reorganising of current premises
  • Check agreed work by staff or contractors has been completed satisfactorily and follow up on any deficiencies
  • Manage one or more teams to cover various areas of responsibility
  • Utilise performance management techniques to monitor and demonstrate achievement of agreed service levels
  • Respond appropriately to emergencies and urgent issues that arise

Person Specification:

The suitable candidate must hold at least a bachelor's degree in business management, facilities management, or a related field (A recognised apprenticeship in a facilities / building services trade, or 2 years of recognised experience and specialist skills as a supervisor in the facilities sector), and have the following attributes:

Required Knowledge, Qualifications & Experience:

  • Previous recognised experience and management skills in the facilities management service - 5 years plu
  • Experience as a hands-on management with excellent customer relationship skills.
  • Experience of project management and managing staff and 3rd parties.
  • Understanding of RICS regulatory issues.
  • Full UK driving licence.
