Job Description:
Paterson Recruitment are supporting a local authority in Oxfordshire with their search for a Technical Officer to join their Facilities Management Team.
Main Duties:
- Pro-actively deliver Operations that offer best value for money and achieve commercial targets.
- To deliver individual schemes / projects relating to the service area
- To manage budgets and staff in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Manage a small team of staff including recruitment, inductions, appraisals, health and safety, learning and development and other appropriate HR matters in accordance with the authorities policies.
- Maintaining excellent, effective working relationships with stakeholders, key strategic partners, senior directors, politicians and operational teams.
- Manage own workload and the resources required to ensure successful project delivery.
- To assume direct responsibility for the management of the budget (area specific).
- Promote a strong customer service focus within the Service and where possible take account of customer requirements.
- Promote and deliver improved communication with individual residents, communities, other local authorities and key stakeholders, in ways that are clear and coherent and jargon free.
- Provide necessary information for performance management measures.
- Remain contemporary with legislation and best practice, and ensure that relevant initiatives are adopted to develop the effectiveness of the service.
Essential Criteria
- The ability to drive and the possession of a current driving licence, or ability to demonstrate an effective means of travel to remote areas of the county.
- Significant experience of working within the specified area of expertise.
- Management experience within a similar work place.
- Must have relevant experience of Facilities Management.
- Level 6 Qualification (e.g. Degree) (or similar qualification in the relevant discipline) OR significant experience in the relevant specialist field of work.
- A sound knowledge of the latest legislative requirements as they relate to the identified specialist field.
- Demonstrable experience of effective engagement with customers and stakeholders within a public service context
