Job Description:

We are currently recruiting for a Infrastructure Project Manager to join a local authority based in Oxfordshire on a temporary basis.

Role Purpose:

  • To successfully manage a project to implement Building Information Modelling (BIM) across the authorities major infrastructure programme, utilising skills such as the development of a detailed project programme, budget management, commissioning / management of consultants, scoping the approvals process and the ability to proactively engage with both internal and external stakeholders affected by the change.
  • To support the PMO Office and oversee the implementation of BIM within the delivery of the major transport projects portfolio, ensuring processes are in place to promote successful delivery and that offer value for money and achieve targets set.

Main Duties:

  • Pro-actively deliver all aspects of successful projects that offer best value for money and achieve commercial targets.
  • To manage or coordinate staff who are working within the same specialist service area (maybe across geographical areas) to ensure shared outcomes are delivered.
  • To manage delivery of this implementation project.
  • To manage project specific budgets in accordance with the authorities policies and procedures.
  • Maintaining excellent, effective working relationships with stakeholders, key strategic supply chain partners and operational teams.
  • Promote a strong customer service focus within the Service and where possible take account of customer requirements, including responding to customers in ways that are clear and jargon free.
  • Promote and deliver improved communication with individual residents, communities, other local authorities and key stakeholders.
  • Remain contemporary with legislation and best practice and ensure that relevant initiatives are adopted to develop the effectiveness of the service.
  • Maintain a current driving licence with access to a vehicle for business use and/or a willingness to use Council vehicles. Or the ability to demonstrate an effective alternate means of frequent travel to all areas of the county.

Essential Criteria:

  • Substantial experience working within the specified area of expertise (highways and civils infrastructure project management knowledge).
  • Qualified Chartered Engineer or Project Management Professional
  • Management qualification and/or experience of managing at the required level ie managing multi-disciplinary project teams
  • A sound knowledge of the latest legislative requirements as they relate to the identified specialist field (BIM)
  • Experience of effective engagement with customers and internal and external stakeholders within a public service context.
  • Experience of budget monitoring

 

**This role is working from home for the time being, however, this is subject to change so candidates may be required to visit Oxfordshire Offices eventually.**
