Quality Engineer (Safe Launch Project) –Coventry

£30-£34 p/h

Quality/Automotive/JLR Project experience

The Quality engineer will be responsible for the following:

  • To plan and implement quality system, process, and product continuous improvements on the new project
  • Facilitate and lead, when necessary, problem solving activities utilizing correct quality tools and techniques. In addition, maintain customer portals for all protype customer claims.
  • To create all quality line documents (Model cell Format), aligned with the Control plan and PFMEA: E.G. (First Off Inspection Instructions, D-Books, Q-gate Process, Strip Down Process, Scrap Process)
  • To coordinate MSA studies and capability studies to meet all customer specific requirements
  • To align with the Project Customer Team and validate all documentation related to PPAP
  • To complete all A2 internal PPAP for the entire project(fully signed and documented in SAP)
  • To support with validation of the line and approval of the measurements
  • To support with customer calls, Run Rate, Line Side Review, Quality Operation Review Launch (QORL), Reverse FMEA activities
  • Comply with and champion, where necessary, all company policies and procedures within the manufacturing area

The candidate must possess the following skills to be considered for this role:

  • Experienced Automotive Quality Engineer
  • Experienced in JLR Projects
  • Knowledge of Quality systems
    • Knowledge and application of problem-solving tools and techniques - 8D process, Ishikawa, FMEA etc.
    • Negotiating skills / Conflict resolution
    • Knowledge and application of a range of statistical techniques including SPC
    • PC Literate
    • Analytical
    • Product and process auditing
    • Independent problem solving with difficult negotiation at customer
    • Ability to understand engineering drawings
    • Knowledge of measurement
  • Respond quickly and efficiently to close out customer problems
